About Me

Hi, I’m Matt! For fifteen years I worked in the financial sector, crunching numbers and balancing accounts until I was made redundant for the third time in a row and decided to change my career for something that I had always wanted to do: graphic design.

Whilst my specialities are layout and photo manipulation-based design, I am also adept at vector-based illustration and writing, allowing me to provide you with a package of skills which includes artwork, logo design, layout assembly, copywriting, media production and social media/web presence.

I’m originally from Crawley, West Sussex but currently reside in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. In my spare time I’m the co-owner, webmaster and content producer at the GeekPlanetOnline podcasting network; in addition to audio media, I  also produce the occasional written column and review for the editorial team. In addition, I have written as a freelancer for Sci-Fi-London, Cult TV Times Magazine and SFX Magazine.

Outside of work, my greatest passion is the collection of vintage video games and gaming equipment; I have a large collection of gaming consoles and microcomputers dating between 1980 and the present day, and I am always on the outlook for new acquisitions. I’m never happier than when snooping in charity shops and trade-in stores for old games and hardware. I love discovering new books and writers, and retain a romantic view of cinema.

All opinions stated in the blog section of this website are my own.
